DAILY FEATURES

Take a trip back to Wisconsin’s farming roots. Teachers enhance classroom learning, seniors reminisce and children delight in seeing real farm animals. Enjoy this self-guided, educational and recreational excursion:

Farm Zoo and Nursery - pet and feed traditional farmyard animals, from chickents to Belgian Draft horses weighing over one ton each! See how each barnyard family lives and takes care of its’ young.

Wagon Rides - provide visitors with a 15 minute pastoral ride through the woods, prairie and pumpkin fields.

Six Historic Restored Farm Buildings and New Barn - The Admission Barn housed equipment and machinery for over 60 years. Today it is the nucleus of our farm, setting the stage when you arrive. Our Gift/Antique Shop and Café fill the building. Five other original buildings grace the Family Farm grounds - ready for your self-guided exploration. Our Main Barn’s upper floor was completely destroyed by fire in March of 2007. Since that time we have built a new Loft on the original 1905 2’ thick fieldstone foundation. (For Loft rental information for your group of up to 240, click: The Event Loft). Look at the walls of the German crafted barn and the large beams around door and window openings. Imagine the work done without electricity or motors! Visit the Silo - you see them from afar, now stand inside and see how small you are! The Corncrib, Milk House, Granary and the Pig’n’Chicken Shed each have a unique use on the farm. This historic property has been enhanced with multiple child play areas and modern facilities. Visit them all!

Mural Tour with Antique Tools & Implements - pick up the Tour Text and learn how to start your own farm! Colorful artwork, interesting and odd tools are all part of the fun.

Nature Walk - a 5/8 mile excursion with three stimulating environments. Discover woodland underbrush and fungi; prairie plants, colorful caterpillars and insects; wetland grasses, trees and birds...the Farm is in the migratory flight path along Lake Michigan’s coast.

Pond and Creek - Completely rebuilt this summer, a pond and creek offer park-like places to rest and ponder all the beauty. Observe a variety of wild life in these areas.

Hay Romp - no one too young or too old for the romp of all times. Huge round bales and fluffy hay provide last century’s answer to the trampoline!

Gift/Antique Shop and Café - unique shopping describes the “All Things Rural” gift and antique shop. Children’s amusements, educational gifts and practical home solutions abound along with many unusual antiques. Our Café offers beverages, lunches, snacks, ice cream and seasonal treats along with fun food gifts.
